Clio, wreck site, Water Sound
This steel steamship was built in Hartlepool in 1889 and registered in Hull. Clio (also known as Clio I) was sunk as a blockship in Water Sound, between Burray and South Ronaldsay, on 29 April 1914. A report of 1992 states that the wreck is situated in the middle of the sound with the boilers and engines exposed at high water. Another source asserts that 'a great deal of salvage has taken place'.
