The Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership Scheme

 

Lycia, wreck site, Skerry Sound

 

The motor vessel Lycia was built in 1924 by Dunlop,Bremner and Co of Glasgow. On 9 February 1941, having suffered from defective engines at Scapa, she was sunk as a blockship in Skerry Sound, between Lamb Holm and Glimps Holm. The remains of the wreck can still be seen at low tide.
