SS Minieh, wreck site, Kirk Sound

This iron steamship was the work of Clydeside shipbuilders D and W Henderson and Co, in 1876. Originally SS Alsatia, she was renamed SS Minieh (sometimes referred to as Mineh) in 1901 by new owners. Sunk in Kirk Sound as a blockship on 27 February 1915, nothing now remains of the ship. A report of 1972 states that the entire hull had been removed at some point.
