SS Ronda, wreck site, Burra Sound

This 19th-century steamship started life in West Hartlepool, built by J Blumer and Co, and was registered in Hull. Her original 1889 name was Rydal Holm/Home/Holme, but the ship was bought in 1902 by Bailey and Leethan, and renamed. SS Ronda was scuttled on 20 August 1915, the most northerly of the seven blockships in Burra Sound, between Hoy and Graemsay.

The wreck was blown up and dispersed in 1962.
